The mapping, carried out at a scale of 1:100,000, identified three geocomplexes: semi-arid river plains, residual and structural crystalline plateaus and the Piranhas hinterland. The study was based on geospatial information on the geocomplexes map, obtained from satellite image and radar interpretation, which were essential for making the vegetation cover, hypsometer, pedological, lithological and land use and occupation maps.
