The PPA is a planning instrument that outlines government guidelines and goals for a 4-year period, and the monitoring stage is one of the most crucial phases of the cycle. It can provide data that serves as a basis for governmental action. Therefore, it is important that this stage produces adequate information that can be used in the decision-making process, essential for the development of a plan with public policies compatible with the demands of the state's population. For the purpose of conducting the research, an analysis is carried out through documents and a semi-structured interview to establish a comparison between theory and practice regarding the implementation of PPA monitoring in RN. Additionally, quantitative data is collected from state agencies properly carrying out this process. After verifying the obtained information, it is concluded that it is not possible to determine the degree of monitoring efficiency.
