The objective of the research was to produce a mini documentary that reported some tales and songs from the quilombo communities in the Northeast Seridó region, specifically, “Boa Vista dos Negros”, in Parelhas-RN, “Negros do Riacho”, in Currais Novos-RN, and "Macambira", in Lagoa Nova-RN. It presents testimonies of the hard life, the struggle against prejudice and a time of hardships already overcome. The documentary is 44:17 minutes long and was produced from stories told by villagers and residents of the communities mentioned above, identifying several songs that were or yet are part of the everyday life of these people, especially the religious chants sung in Latin. This oral transmission of knowledge is important to perpetuate the memories and the local culture, especially from the older generation to the younger.openAccessContos.
