In this way, it can be understood as a form of Political Education, forming citizens aware of their rights and duties, capable of claiming social justice, citizenship, respect and ethics in all aspects relevant to the environment and society. The main objective of this study is to awaken in those involved an interest in Environmental Education, making them aware of the most different issues in the relationship between man and nature, thus seeking a behavioral change, through lectures and participatory activities involving students and teachers. In order to meet the proposed objective, this work is developed conceptualizing Environmental Education and contextualizing it in the school context. Thus, in 2019, an interview and questioning was carried out with teachers from the Escola Vereador Inácio Miranda dos Santos, located at Rua Inácio Bezerra da Trindade, 132, Bairro São Sebastião, Parelhas/RN, to collect information on how issues related to the environment. Based on the data collection, a project was created to carry out the 1st Environmental Awareness Week at the Alderman School Inácio Miranda dos Santos. For this event, we used the space of the school, under study, with students and teachers as the target audience.
