It was aimed to investigate how the process of inclusion of people with disabilities in the school is constructed and the consequences of this activity for elementary and high school students and teachers of special education in daily school life. The work was built based on the case study method of the school routine of three students with disabilities and four special education teachers of the institution. The socio-affective development of students in their daily relationship with classmates, teachers and school management can be rated as effective, while the cognitive development of students about the subjects taught in each subject proved to be a daily challenge for special education teachers and students, due to the deficiencies of each student and the limitations of the performance of other school teachers. The data analyzed in this research show that the laws and public policies to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in school, promoted by the Federal Government since the Brazilian Constitution of 1988, ensure, when implemented, a limited inclusion of these students in daily school life.
