Tese (Doutorado em Engenharia Mecânica) - Centro de Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2018.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/jspui/handle/123456789/26937This thesis presents an approach on the recycling process of a curauá (0%, 10% and 30%) reinforced polypropylene matrix biocomposite, where they have undergone five recycling cycles (reprocessing) in a machine of the type extruder. Analyzes of fluidity index, thermal analysis (softening temperature and thermogravimetric analysis) and mechanical test of flexion in three points were performed. Both analyzes were carried out in samples at room temperature and in samples that were passed for a period of 14 days in a greenhouse at a temperature of 120 ° C, to analyze the heat interference in the biocomposite and the recyclability of the same. After a comparative analysis between the studied states, it was observed that the biocomposites with 30% of reinforcement have a greater modulus of elasticity and present greater resistance to flexion. For materials that passed through the greenhouse period, they achieved higher values of stiffness and strength compared to material that did not have this conditioning. When the comparative analysis of the properties and thermal characteristics of the materials is carried out, an improvement in the softening temperature and a positive displacement of the tg curve is observed for all the compositions studied here.
