This will be achieved through manipulation and generalization of spatial data contained in the Geological Map of the Rio Grande do Norte state, scale 1: 500,000, produced in 2006. To create the simplified cartographic material, it can be emphasized the use of GIS as a tool for integration and analysis of geological knowledge, speleological and cartographical. It also highlights the application of thematic cartography concepts, aiming to apply the best representation of the data. As cartographic products it was produced the Simplified Geological Map of the Rio Grande do Norte state, scale 1: 500,000, and the Map of Potential Occurrence of Caves of the Rio Grande do Norte state, scale 1: 1,000,000. These maps are available printed and digital format in a context of a Geographic Information System. Correlating the information, it is observed that the Map of Potential Caves has a direct relation to the Simplified Geological Map. The maps produced will be used by students, researchers, managers and decision-makers to understand the physical environment (or geodiversity).
