It is one of the expressions of the social issue, which affects human beings in different ways depending on their gender, sexuality, race and social class. Patriarchy directly benefits from this violence and uses it as a form of domination to subjugate women in various aspects: political, economic and social. One of the main environments in which women are subject to such oppression is precisely the domestic environment, which we will address in this article. This is the product of qualitative research, with a bibliographic survey and secondary data, whose sources used were the Brazilian Public Security Forum, the Patrícia Galvão Institute, the Maria da Penha Institute, among others. The bibliographic review used has in its theoretical framework authors such as Iamamoto (2007), Minayo (2005), Lerner (2019) and Saffioti (2004). The general objective is to analyze domestic violence against women in the context of the Brazilian reality, problematizing its causes, impacts, and the instruments used by the Protection Network to combat it. The specific objectives of this study are to understand the genesis of violence against women, analyzing the historical, cultural, and social context that contributes to the perpetuation of patriarchy and female oppression; to provide visibility to data on violence against women in Brazil and its exponential increase during the COVID-19 pandemic; to identify the reasons why women victims of violence are reluctant to file a formal complaint; to highlight the Protection Network and the role of Social Services in combating violations of women's rights. The results indicated a significant disparity in the incidence of domestic violence among women of different social classes and races. The study sought to highlight the importance of the professional performance of the social worker in the various socio-occupational spaces, since the performance of the social worker is essential in the elaboration and implementation of public policies that aim to give strength and voice to the struggles of women in Brazil, seeking to reaffirm the professional ethical-political commitment to the fight for human rights.Attribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Serviço socialPatriarcadoRede de proteçãoViolência contra a mulherSocial servicePatriarchyProtection networkViolence against womenA violência doméstica contra a mulher no Brasil: uma abordagem a partir do Serviço SocialDomestic violence against women in Brazil: an approach from Social ServicebachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::SERVICO SOCIAL
