Dissertação (Mestrado em Educação Física) - Centro de Ciências da Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/43737The objective of this work was to analyze a pedagogical experience on dance, as a content of physical education in schools, which met expectations regarding dance content in elementary school, aiming to identify teaching possibilities and difficulties encountered that could contribute to the expansion of this content in the school. The methodology used was based on an experience report, in which the researcher acted as a participating researcher. The study sample consisted of two classes from the seventh year of elementary school, from the João Vitor da Silva Lima Municipal School, in the community of Alegria, district of Ielmo Marinho-RN. Data collection took place during 18 dance classes in Physical Education. Classes were recorded through observations, photos and a field note diary, where evaluations took place from the classes, involving approximately 22 children/students. The results showed that, even in the face of the challenges faced by the Physical Education teacher regarding their practice in daily school life, because it is a little worked content, it awakened in students the interest and/or pleasure in dance, starting from constructive classes involving art of the movement as a way to encourage learning. In conclusion, it is pointed out that dance, as a content of Physical Education, can be a good incentive strategy in the teaching process of school learning, providing positive benefits that work with movement, creativity, musicality, socialization, attitudes, gestures and lightness.
