Our objective is to evaluate the effect of geopolitical scale, the data type and the size of the planning unit on selected networks for endemic primates of Atlantic Forest using quantitative methods. For that we compiled primates record of the occurrence in periodicals and journals and used the IUCN distributions. We built on the Atlantic Forest three grids with different sizes of planning units. We conducted twelve approaches comparing the data type (occurrence and distribution) in two extension (state or biome) separately for three different resolutions (1 °, 0.5 ° and 0.25 °). We evaluated the irreplaceability pattern of the planning units in all approaches and estimate the similarity between the selected networks in each approach through the Jaccard index of similarity and analysis of factorial variance for permutation. We observed that when we consider different types of data for different sizes resolutions on approaches, in the biome level, the number of irreplaceable squares is lower than for the length that considered the states, using a smaller percentage of grid to represent all primates.
