With the aim of reporting, sharing and reflecting on experiences arising from experiences as an intern, the importance of the care process with a focus on empathy is assessed. The congruence between technique and humanization tends to promote the effectiveness of clinical treatment thanks to the strengthening of the professional-patient relationship. The reflections on the topic addressed are built based on dialogue with works such as that of Leonardo Boff, which deals with the resonances of care and its implications in the health-disease process. The methodology also includes research in academic and scientific articles and other sources as a way to support the work, and dialogue with individual writings about lived memories. To illustrate the reflective content, iconographic support is used with illustrative images of the internship experience. Qualitative research with (auto)biographical content converges thoughts arising from lived experiences with the chosen studies to expand the notion of care based on empathy. We then come to the realization that the internship was beneficial to gain experience in the pediatric clinical area, as well as to intimately experience care in a humanized way. And, mainly, the possibility of discovering the true path to healing comes from replacing the pure traditional technicality in approaching patients with the model in which complicity and “caring” about others is incorporated into the treatment. Writing the memorial was a rich journey through the meanders of memories and narratives, opportune to enrich my vision of Nutrition and patient care.
