This economic growth and development resulting from production, causes environmental impacts. Therefore, the present work has the objective of analyzing the implications of the environmental problems arising from the production of the textile sector in the municipality of São Bento from 2010 to 2017. Methodologically, procedures were used that correspond to the bibliographical research, having as consultation the discussions made by Alves (2010), Araújo (2011), Carneiro (2001) (2005), Santos (1998), Silva (2010), Souza (2010), conducting field research through visits to factories and establishments in the textile sector, in addition to the use of photographic records that show the environmental impacts resulting from industrial waste. With the realization of the research, we can affirm that textile production, even in the face of the innovation of its productive techniques, still generates environmental impacts, such as the degradation of the local ecosystem as a result of the launching of a great part of the effluents and industrial residues produced, which are sometimes released without any type of treatment in the Piranhas/Açu River.openAccessSão Bento-PBTextile SectorSetor TêxtilEnvironmental ImpactsImpactos AmbientaisbachelorThesis
