Acesso em: 3 mai. 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/58906The Extension Project – School meals: in search of quality, conducted in partnership with the State Department of Education and Culture (SEEC/RN) and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Brazil, executed by the Department of Nutrition (DNUT) and the Rio Grande do Norte (RN) Research Foundation (FUNPEC), resulted from a public tender. The period of the project was 4 years (2011-2015), and its main objective was to strengthen measures related to the National School Meals Program (PNAE) in the public school system of Rio Grande do Norte state. Development of the actions proposed in this project aimed at meeting the need for planning, orientation and monitoring of PNAE activities. Thereby, strengthening the food and nutritional security of the meal offered to the participants of the program. In that way contributing to complying with the guidelines of Interministerial Decree nº 1010, which institutes guidelines for promoting healthy school meals in accordance with the legislation (Resolution nº. 26/2013 FNDE and Law 11.947 of June 16, 2009) and the Food and Nutritional Frame of Reference (2012).
