However, there are still few instruments available in Portuguese that assess all auditory skills, contemplating the clinical evaluation and also the family judgment that are applicable to the routine of specialized rehabilitation services. Therefore, adapting an instrument in a reduced format, allows it use in larger samples, as well as enable the comparison between data obtained in different subjects and contexts, with gains for clinical and research spheres. Objective: to adapt the Brazilian Auditory Functional Performance Indicators (FAPI) protocol for a reduced version, including the production of material and an application manual. Method: a descriptive and cross-sectional study with quantitative and qualitative approach, carried out with seven speech-language pathologists who applied the protocol in 34 hard of hearing children and their caregivers. The validity of content as well as the reliability of the instrument were evaluated through the analysis of semantic equivalence, the satisfaction evaluation of speech therapists and the statistical tests of Cronbach and Kappa coefficients. Results: it was adapted the reduced version named FAPI-r, with coefficients that indicated internal consistency and inter appraisers agreement almost perfects. Speech-Language Pathologists reported satisfaction with the protocol and referred that the application manual facilitated the understanding of how to use it. However, there was a lack of agreement between the assessment of speech-language pathologists and the families' responses, indicating the need for greater inclusion of the family in the therapeutic scenario, with systematic guidance on what to expect from the progression of auditory abilities for the hard of hearing child. Conclusion: The adaptation of the FAPI-r was fulfilled, confirming its validity and reliability, with future outspread for the research and clinical contexts in the (re) auditory habilitation.otherAcesso AbertoValidade dos TestesPercepção AuditivaHabilitação da Deficiência AuditivaAdaptação do protocolo Indicadores de Performance Funcional Auditiva Versão Reduzida (FAPI-r)bachelorThesisCiências da Saúde
