The research criticizes the lack of concrete actions to reverse the decline and degradation of the Cidade Alta and Ribeira neighborhoods. The main objective is to develop a project to implement QR Code signs in these neighborhoods, enriching the experience of tourists and residents with access to historical and cultural information. To achieve this objective, technical aspects of the plaques were defined, the monuments covered were described, relevant informative content was developed, and the appropriate technology and platform was chosen to host the information. The methodology includes analyzing similar projects and the adapting best practices to the local context. For this work, eight significant locations in the city's history and development were chosen: four in the Cidade Alta neighborhood and four in the Ribeira neighborhood. QR Codes were produced with technical specifications, including size and design. The technology used involves creating an adaptive website that hosts the information accessed by QR Codes, allowing for multilingual support. The informative content is detailed and enriched, providing an interactive and educational experience. The implementation of QR Codes facilitates access to historical information, promotes heritage appreciation, and enhances cultural tourism in the region.
