Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Turismo) - Departamento de Turismo, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/37468The debate on sustainability has gained momentum in recent years and has become a key issue in a many areas, including tourism. According to the Tourism Ethics code of the WTO, it is the duty of tourist development agents to protect the environment and natural resources. In this context, since the animals are also inserted in the environment, the research tries to analyze, based on the ethical principles of sustainability and deep ecology, the perception of trainees of a tourism enterprise, whose main attraction are the wild animals kept in captivity. For this, a questionnaire was applied with the target public of the research. The results demonstrate a certain level of commitment of participants to animal welfare, however, it has been found that the principles of sustainability predominate over the ethics of deep ecology.Animais.
