Under this analysis, it was decided to work with the female incarcerated population, considering the need to think about well-designed prison spaces, which value the well-being of the inmates and meet the specific demands of incarcerated women. In this way, the present research aims to develop a preliminary study of a humanized female prison, with a view to the contribution of the space to the resocialization of women prisoners. To this end, a bibliographical research was carried out regarding the history and characteristics of female prison spaces, as well as the spatial humanization and resocialization of inmates. The theoretical survey, together with the reference studies, supported the development of the project, which was based on the methodology of Laert Neves (1989).
