The research now investigated analyzed the conditions of permanence and success in working class women at IFRN, reflecting on the challenges faced by them in a classist, racist and patriarchal society and considering the current context in Brazil, permeated by the advance of conservatism, by the loss of rights and a great resurgence of misogynistic violence. The analysis started from notions such as “patriarchy” and “education”, seeking to reflect, with historical basis, how the current educational model and government policies deal with the issue of education focused on the diversity and equity of the subjects. In addition, it was also researched and discussed how patriarchal gender inequalities present themselves in the school space of the IFRN Natal Central Campus and how students perceive them. Regarding the methodological procedures, the study of a qualitative character, uses the historical-dialectical materialist method for a process of searching for the essence of the phenomena; thus seeking to comprehend the object in its multiple determinations. In addition to conducting bibliographic-documentary research, field research was carried out through semistructured interviews with eleven students from the Natal Central Campus, selected by diversity in criteria such as class, race and courses enrolled. Of the eleven interviews, five took place in person and six took place remotely through messaging applications, due to a specific context of social isolation and suspension of face-to-face classes experienced in the year 2020 worldwide.
