Although its presence is not intentional, contamination may occur through raw materials, particularly mineral-based pigments. This study aimed to identify and quantify the arsenic content in five samples of nude-colored lipsticks commercialized in Brazil, using the molecular absorption spectrophotometry technique with silver diethyldithiocarbamate. The analyses were performed in duplicate, following dry mineralization, arsenic extraction, and formation of the arsenic diethyldithiocarbamate complex, with absorbance reading at 540 nm.
