This study aims to perform a analysis of planning and productivity management practices in residential construction projects, based on four published national case studies. The research is exploratory and descriptive, adopting a qualitative approach and content analysis. The main management tools applied in each study were examined, such as PERT-CPM, Line of Balance, 5W1H, Kanban, PDCA, and other project management strategies. The results indicate that, although different tools are adopted, project success largely depends on the integration between planning and productivity control. The absence of execution monitoring was found to compromise project performance, even when a structured plan exists.
