Recognizing the importance of diversifying and providing opportunities for new contents and methodologies in school Physical Education classes, this study aimed to apply and analyze a proposal for pedagogical intervention that would allow the insertion of racket sports in an elective subject in a full-time school. For this purpose, the following specific objectives were established: to diagnose the reality; to systematize a sequence of classes with the racket sports content, and to evaluate the teaching-learning process in the systematization developed. Thirty students from the first grades of high school, enrolled in the elective subject racquet sports, participated in the research. The study took place at the Dom Antonio Campelo de Aragão full-time high school. The construction of the work was based on a qualitative research proposal of the intervention type, that is, a participatory study. The data were collected during the application of a didactic unit with 20 lessons. The instruments for data collection were two questionnaires, the field diary, and photographic records. These data were treated and organized, thus resulting in three categories of analysis: probing the reality, experiencing the reality, and evaluating the reality. With the development and evaluation of this didactic unit, the dissertation described some contributions, discoveries, and the organization of a product aimed at the construction and systematization of tools to facilitate the treatment of the following racquet sports: Tennis, Table Tennis, Beach Tennis, Badminton, Frescobol, Quimbol, and Speedball. In the research results some limits are presented, such as the difficulty in obtaining materials, the lack of adequate spaces, the lack of academic and continuous training for the treatment of racket sports, and some possibilities such as the construction of materials, adaptation of spaces, organization of knowledge about racket sports, use of the methodology of cooperative learning and problematization of the themes that accompany the students and that were discussed during the development of the elective classes, strengthening the relevance of the insertion of racket sports in schools.Acesso AbertoEducação físicaEsportes com raquetesEscola de ensino em tempo integralEsportes com raquetes: uma proposta de intervenção na escola pública de tempo integralmasterThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::EDUCACAO FISICA
