This study aimed to: adjust the cumulative probability function of the Gumbel data and annual maximum daily precipitation obtain the equation of intensity-duration-frequency, through the breakdown of rain 24h for city Mossoró-RN. Data of maximum annual rainfall from 1970 to 2007, we proceeded to fit the theoretical distribution and were applied, the following compliance tests: Chi-Square, Kolmogov-Smirnov and AndersonDarling, there was also a breakdown of rain a day rains smaller durations, and obtained the equation that represents the relationship intensity-duration-frequency. We observed good fit of the model series, being significant for all tests, the equation generated allowed calculating the maximum intensity of rainfall with different durations and return periods.
