Classical analytical solutions available to determine the internal forces required for the reinforcement design are not always easily obtained and, related to the technical bibliography, equations are established only for specific structures. Thus, for the analysis of general shells, softwares based on the Finite Element Method (FEM) are used. The section 14.2.3 of the NBR 6118:2014 code highlights that the reinforcement design cannot be performed only based on the stresses or internal forces, but the stress fields must be integrated along the shell thickness to this purpose. This work presents an application program developed in order to determine the reinforcement area for concrete laminar structures based on the Three Layers methodology presented in the Model Code 1990.
