For this purpose, data from 4 rainfall stations spatially distributed in the interior and surroundings of the basin were used, for the period from 1978 to 2017. In order to generate the filling of monthly gaps, the method of ratios of normal values was used, and in order to produce the spatial interpolation of precipitation, which enabled the analysis of the spatial variability of precipitation, the Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) method was used. From data analysis, considerable temporal and spatial variability was found, with an annual historical average of 1,246 mm, a maximum of 1,761 mm, in 1979, and a minimum of 745 mm, recorded in 2014, This year already included the longest period of drought recorded in Brazilian territory, which was from 2012 to 2017. From the analyzes it was found that the basin has a rainy season that runs from November to March, and a dry season that runs from April to October.
