Composição centesimal dos frutos da planta nativa "Angélica" (Guettarda sericea). 2025, 37 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Nutrição) - Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde do Trairi, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Santa Cruz, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/61218The diversity of Brazilian flora stands out as one of the richest and most varied on the planet, primarily recognized through the six biomes that comprise it. Within the typical vegetation of each biome, Non-Conventional Food Plants (PANC) are found, which, despite their significant nutritional and food potential, are underappreciated and rarely included in the population's regular diet. This underutilization represents a significant loss of food resources, highlighting the need for greater recognition and encouragement of their consumption. Among the native PANC is the species Guettarda sericea, from the Rubiaceae family, typical of montane forests known as "brejos de altitude." It is an endemic species to Brazil, found only in the northeastern states. In this context, the present study aimed to characterize the nutritional properties of the fruits of the native plant "Angélica" (Guettarda sericea), collected from a "brejo de altitude" zone in Rio Grande do Norte, to stimulate the consumption of this fruit by local communities, contributing to food and nutritional security, while reinforcing the need to preserve and value the natural resources of Brazilian biomes. The fruits were subjected to proximate composition analysis, revealing average values of 66.8 g/100g moisture, 0.87 g/100g ash, 10.72 g/100g fiber, 0.76 g/100g lipids, 1.43 g/100g proteins, and 19.39 g/100g carbohydrates, with an energy value of 90 Kcal per 100g serving. Considering the potential presence of bioactive compounds in its composition, further studies on the chemical characterization of the fruit are desirable and should be encouraged, as scientific information on this species is still scarce. It is concluded that the Angélica fruits could be an important ally in promoting a healthy diet, and its preservation is emphasized as part of a strategy to value natural resources.Attribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Caracterização centesimalPlantas frutíferasPotencial alimentarValor nutricionalComposição centesimal dos frutos da planta nativa "Angélica" (Guettarda sericea)Centesimal composition of the fruits of the native plant "Angelica" (Guettarda sericea)bachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE
