In view of this, this paper aims to build an insight into the profile of undergraduate students of the Centro de Tecnologia, Escola de Ciências e Tecnologia, Centro de Ciências Exatas e da Terra and the Instituto Metropole Digital of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, which offer engineering and technology courses. This study has a descriptive character and was based on qualitative and quantitative methods. The specific objectives are: to verify the impact of gender inside the study environment with regard to prejudice and intimidation situations due to the gender of the students of the area; to analyze the profile of the students of the engineering and technology courses at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. In this way, the concepts of data science, statistics, and data visualization are used, which allowed the results to be achieved through pre-processing techniques, exploratory analysis, and statistical tests, using the Python programming language and its libraries Pandas, Matplotlib, and Seaborn. With Therefore, it was found that the courses with the highest concentration of women are Textile Engineering and Food Engineering, which has the lowest percentage of women is the Bachelor in Information Technology.
