Mulheres catadoras de materiais recicláveis no Brasil: condições de gênero e desafios socio-organizativos no século XXI. 2019. 89f. Monografia (Graduação em Serviço Social) - Departamento de Serviço Social, Centro de Ciências Sociais Aplicadas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/36075This paper addresses the social implications resulting from the inadequate management of solid waste in relation to the living, working and organizational conditions of women collectors of recyclable materials in Brazil in the 21st century, whereas most of these workers are exposed even more than men to social and economic vulnerabilities, aggravated by gender inequalities. Therefore, its objective is to analyze the challenges faced by women collectors of recyclable materials to achieve political recognition and leadership in local and national socio-organizational processes, taking into account the particularities of gender and the specificities of their living and working conditions. The analysis of the object was made from dialectical historical materialism to enable the apprehension of the aspects in their totality. Since this is a qualitative, exploratory research, I used secondary documentary sources and carried out a wide review of the literature concerning the theme of recyclable material collectors. I also used the "content analysis" in order to deepen the knowledge of the subject and answer the research questions. The methodology led me to conclude that, despite being exposed to various vulnerabilities arising from poverty and social and economic exclusion and the historical challenges concerning the class situation and the conditions of race and gender, women collectors of recyclable materials, through work and struggles marked by breakthroughs and setbacks, they are also making up the decision-making places within their local and national organizations. A long road has been trodden, but this is not over, and these actresses still have a long way to go before they achieve recognition for their role by society and the State.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/Catadoras de materiais recicláveisExclusão social e econômicaOrganização políticaGêneroRaçaMulheres catadoras de materiais recicláveis no Brasil: condições de gênero e desafios socio-organizativos no século XXIbachelorThesis
