Concentrações séricas de 25(OH)D e estado nutricional antropométrico em adultos com síndrome metabólica. 2018. 31f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Nutrição) – Curso de Nutrição, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2018.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/40021Introduction: Serum concentrations of 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] have been inversely associated with adiposity and metabolic abnormalities in the metabolic syndrome (MS). The objective of the study was to evaluate the relationship between serum concentrations of [25(OH)D] and anthropometric nutritional status in adults with MS. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was carried out with 134 individuals (19-59 years old) diagnosed with MS and BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2. The anthropometric nutritional status was evaluated by body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC) and waist circumference ratio (WHR). The subjects were evaluated according to adequate 25(OH)D levels (≥ 30 ng/mL) or < 30 ng/mL, inadequate levels. Results: The mean age of the participants was 45.04 (9.07) years, with a predominance of females (81%). The mean BMI, WC and WHR were 34,46 (6.45) kg/m²; 106.54 (12.16) cm and 0.97 (0.06), respectively. Triglycerides and fasting glycemia were altered in all subjects. The mean serum concentrations of 25(OH)D were 27.65 (8.64) ng/mL. There was no significant difference in the relationship between 25(OH)D concentration and BMI (p = 0.108), WC (p = 0.812) and WHR (p = 0.600). The correlations between serum concentrations of 25(OH)D and BMI (p = 0.709), WC (p = 0.858) and WHR (p = 0.715) were not significant. Conclusion: 25(OH)D concentrations were not related to changes in anthropometric nutritional status in subjects with metabolic syndrome. These results suggest robust studies to investigate the relationship between serum vitamin D levels and obesity.embargoedAccesssíndrome metabólicavitamina Dobesidademetabolic syndromevitamin DobesityConcentrações séricas de 25(OH)D e estado nutricional antropométrico em adultos com síndrome metabólicabachelorThesis
