O som que liberta: ressocialização de apenados através do ensino de violão na Penitenciária Doutor Francisco Nogueira Fernandes (Alcaçuz). Natal, RN, 2012. 64 f. Monografia (Graduação) - Escola de Música da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2012.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/33847This report shows a historical point of view, the artistic and musical in prisons in Brazil since the early twentieth century. It is important to clarify that activities performed music education not only in the State Prison of Alcaçuz (PEA), as in any prison context has the legal foundation Criminal Sentencing Act (LEP), which in its Article 11 (BRAZIL, 1984 ) deals with the assistance jailed in general and concise, and in section VI of Article 41 (BRAZIL, 1984) recommends, excepting only the compatibil ity of the sentence, the right to exercise professional activities, intellectual, artistic and sporting by inmates. As music education is a relatively recent topic in prisons, sometimes flirts with other artistic activities in prisons such as craft workshops, theater workshops, producing artistic drawings, painting pictures, activities that are more common and more viable in a way. The introduction of the guitar workshops in the PEA objective knowledge by the student convict a multifaceted artistic and cultural activity, with various functions in society: integration function, ritualistic, religious, burial, civic, therapeutic, festive, playful, professional, among others. Therefore, the music provides the inclusion of students convict a context of coexistence and integration humanitarian, civic, where in contact with the musical arts daily, he can channel this shift in consciousness and behavior through artistic production in the workshops on guitar. Would not have a good marketing material such as crafts, music lessons but directed towards the creation of a group instrumental or vocal as laboratory practice set would produce a great effect on the organization of events holidays and participation in public ceremonies, for example. For the workshops, the methodology used are group lessons in groups of 5 students, which is worked a targeted content to approach the guitar as a monitoring tool, with its peculia rities of chords, strings, etc. In conversation with some students convicts, realize that the results are very good. Improved family and prison, behavior and work are some of the first results obtained with the guitar workshops. Other fruits musicals that have been produced and are an absolutely satisfactory relevance are some compositions that I receive from my students, some with a sketch of harmony and scrambling a bit rudimentary, others that are delivered only with the letter, and later asked one of them to co -authored by my side in harmony. I believe these are already one level of play, that would be the professional, and I hope to get state resources to be able to deploy the project on vocational course music, this factor would require manpower and human material beyond what we already have.
