Relação entre pontos gatilhos miofasciais e a força isométrica de músculos do ombro em sujeitos com síndrome do impacto subacromial unilateral. 2017. 43f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Fisioterapia) - Departamento de Fisioterapia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2017.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/35863Introduction: The shoulder is a joint of great mobility, being much demanded daily, which can come to present limitation in its mobility, strength and pain. There are studies demonstrating that myofascial trigger points can cause such dysfunctions, affecting the quality of life of affected individuals. Objective: Bilaterally evaluate the relation of the presence of myofascial trigger points and isometric strength of the shoulder muscles in subjects with unilateral Subacromial Impact Syndrome symptomatology. Methods: It is an observational cross-sectional study, developed at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Twenty-three subjects (15 males and 8 females, 34.47 ± 10.15 years, BMI 24.2 ± 2.23 kg/m2) presented symptoms for unilateral SIS. Sampling was of the non-probabilistic type of consecutive cases. The selected individuals were referred to a physiotherapist with 6 years of experience, who evaluated them following inclusion and exclusion criteria. After inclusion, the subjects were evaluated bilaterally regarding the number of myofascial trigger points and the isometric force in the movements of arm elevation, external and internal rotation, exercised in a manual dynamometer, the data were statistically analyzed in a descriptive and inferential way. For the distribution of the sample, the Shapiro-Wilk test was used. To evaluate the difference between the sides, the t-dependent test was used. The correlation between the isometric force and the total number of trigger points was evaluated through the Pearson test. Results: Statistical difference was found in relation to active myofascial trigger points on the affected side in relation to the non-affected patient (p = 0.001). There was statistical significance in the external rotation (p = 0.022 and p = 0.001) and internal (p = 0.025 and p = 0.011) movements in the force and pain respectively, between the affected and non-affected side. Only the supraspinal muscle was statistically significant for active myofascial trigger points and strength, at elevation (r = -0.537, p = (0.008)) and at external rotation (r = -0.460; p = (0.027)), being considered moderate and negative. Conclusion: Considering the results of the research, it was observed that only the supraspinal muscle presented statistical significance, in the correlation of the presence of active myofascial trigger points and force.embargoedAccessSíndrome da dor miofascial.
