Among these changes are changes in eating habits. As a result, several health concerns have emerged, such as: protein-energy malnutrition, overweight, high cholesterol levels, excess salt and sugar, low intake of fruits and vegetables, among others. These factors contribute to a group of diseases that represent the biggest global public health problem, Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases. Given such importance, the Unified Health System invests in actions and services with the aim of preventing and also treating such diseases. In this endeavor, the nutritionist and the Community Health Agent have fundamental roles with regard to the Family Health Strategy, since, working together, they can bring information about healthy eating to people in the community, mainly focusing on foods that help prevent and protect against the development of Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases and their problems. With this in mind, the present work aims to create a manual with nutritional guidelines regarding Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases based on the cardioprotective diet, with the aim of standardizing and providing theoretical support to professionals working in Primary Health Care, especially Agents.
