Sobreviventes de Alcaçuz: relatos dos que viram, ouviram e sentiram o massacre. 2024. 105 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Comunicação Social - Jornalismo) - Departamento de Comunicação Social, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/58790This Course Completion Work aimed to create the report Survivors of Alcaçuz - Reports of those who saw, heard and felt the massacre, composed of journalistic profiles in which the stories of three men who personally experienced the massacre at the Alcaçuz penitentiary are reported, in Rio Grande do Norte. After seven years of this attack, which exposed the social and logistical problems of a prison unit, and alerted to the terror that the existence of criminal factions brings in the state, this story still needed to be told from the perspective of those who experienced the rebellion firsthand. People who did not have their views presented in the media, which tends to prioritize official sources and bulletins (RODRIGUES, 2010). This work listened to and reported the perspectives of those who experienced the massacre in Alcaçuz, with reports of terrible episodes and psychological and physical consequences. In the process of constructing this work, the expectation was to find people who experienced this episode with a feeling of rebirth, some still dealing with trauma, others living in an attempt to overcome the time lost behind bars and starting life over in other ways, including away from crime. Given this perspective, and based on Ijuim's theory of humanized journalism (2012), this work brings to light voices that have not yet been heard, but were present in the attack. Through this report, we hoped to break the sameness of media outlets that generally only listen to authoritative sources, but to open spaces and amplify the voices of those who have not yet been heard to tell the event based on these reports. To create this report, bibliographical research and in-depth interviews by Duarte (2005) were carried out, seeking in each conversation with interviewees the possible dialogue of Medina (1986). With the report it was possible to delve deeper and show new perspectives on this massacre, with testimonies from selected characters who experienced, survived and returned to life outside of prison as survivors.Jornalismo.
