Monografia (Especialização) - Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Escola Multicampi de Ciências Médicas, Programa de Residência Multiprofissional em Atenção Básica, Caicó, 2023.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/51353The pandemic scenario caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) brought a major limitation regarding the performance of health professionals. With regard to the practices of Psychology professionals, changes were necessary in terms of evaluation and interventions, in the different areas, mainly with regard to Primary Health Care, bearing in mind that this is considered the preferred gateway of the Brazilian public healthcare system (known as SUS). This work is a scoping review prepared according to the scoping review methodology recommended by the Joanna Briggs Institute, which aimed to analyze the performance of psychology in the context of primary health care during the COVID-19 pandemic. The databases used were MEDLINE® (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online /PubMed); LILACS® (Scientific and technical literature from Latin America and the Caribbean/VHL – Virtual Health Library); Capes Portal (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel); SCIELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online). 84 studies were found and after reading the title and abstract, 45 studies were excluded and 28 selected for full text analysis. Of these studies, 3 were included for analysis in this review. As a result, it was possible to show that the professional performance took place from the reorganization of services already available, to the insertion of new forms of action, mainly with regard to virtual work and teleservice, passing through the difficulties faced at work, such as the debasement of the health sector, insecurity and fear of contamination, insufficient Personal Protective Equipment. It is concluded that the psychology professionals who worked in primary care during the pandemic carried out important and relevant work for the continuity of care in the services, even with the difficulties encountered, reorganizing and adapting their modes of action in times of health emergencies.
