The research is exploratory in nature with a qualitative and quantitative approach, based on a survey of official data on the transparency portal of the federal government and municipalities in the region studied and on the websites of the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Economy (Novo Caged and RAIS) and Data Sebrae. The survey results allow us to conclude that during the pandemic, in 2020, of the analyzed municipalities, Currais Novos and Parelhas had the greatest job losses in the sector. As for companies, the restaurant and similar and hotel segments had the highest rates of layoffs. The tourist facilities had impacts according to their size, unemployment in the sector had a negative influence on the job market and consequently on the social and economic development and growth of both municipalities in the Polo Seridó.TurismoPandemia de COVID-19Polo de Turismo Seridó/RNRegião do Seridó (RN)bachelorThesis
