The general objective of this work is to investigate the presence of academic production on literary mediation as one of the paths of Library Science to strengthen a reading society. In this context, the following research question was defined as: how has literary mediation been approached in the academic production of Library Science and Information Science, and how does this approach contribute to the formation of readers? The research is characterized as exploratory-descriptive and uses quantitative and qualitative methods. As technical procedures, a bibliographic survey and analysis of books, scientific articles and works presented at academic events were carried out, with emphasis on productions that deal with literary for the literature review. Data collection was based on a bibliographic survey conducted in the Reference Database of Journal Articles in Information Science (BRAPCI) in May 2025. In this search, 168 articles were retrieved, of which 23 met the selection criteria established for the research. Data analysis demonstrated that literary mediation practices, when developed intentionally and systematically by libraries, play a significant role in promoting reading, especially among diverse audiences. The results show that such practices not only bring readers closer to the literary universe, but also enhance the social role of the library as a space for cultural and civic formation. It was also found that actions such as reading circles, storytelling, literary workshops, and interdisciplinary projects are strategies frequently reported in the articles analyzed, being effective in creating bonds between readers and books. Based on the literature and data collected, it is concluded that literary mediation is a strategic tool in the context of Librarianship, capable of making libraries more dynamic, attractive and inclusive spaces. The practices analyzed prove to be effective both in attracting new users (and readers) and in more actively engaging existing users. In addition, the academic production identified reinforces the importance of mediation as a planned action based on reading theories, expanding the role of the librarian as a cultural and literary mediator. In this way, this work contributes to strengthening the debate on encouraging reading and the leading role of libraries in building a reading society.pt-BRAttribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/BiblioteconomiaMediação literáriaMediador da leituraFormação de leitoresBibliotecário como mediadorMediação literária na formação dos leitores: ações, espaços e público-alvobachelorThesisCIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::CIENCIA DA INFORMACAO::BIBLIOTECONOMIA
