Key hubs such as Guamaré and Macau benefit from favorable geographical conditions and technological investments, while inland projects (e.g., Assu and Mossoró) explore expansion through technical adaptations. Tropical climate and proper resource management—including aerators and probiotics—are crucial for productivity, which varies according to biological and environmental factors. However, challenges such as diseases (e.g., white spot syndrome, NIM), environmental impacts, and high water consumption demand sustainable practices and biosecurity measures. During an internship at Sax Aquicultura (RN), semi-intensive cultivation using seawater was monitored, analyzing management practices such as post-harvest sanitization, chemical and organic fertilization (with bokashi), stocking, and biometry. Post-larval transport with acclimatization reduces stress, while feeding is adjusted weekly based on growth. Harvesting requires careful logistics, including cooling and controlled transportation. It is concluded that shrimp farming in RN must balance productivity, sustainability, and adaptation to local conditions, with continuous technical training to ensure competitiveness and loss reduction.pt-BRAttribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Penaeus vannameiCultivo semi-intensivoManejo produtivoSemi-intensive farmingProduction managementAcompanhamento do processo produtivo no cultivo em sistema semi-intensivo do Penaeus vannameibachelorThesis
