Orientador: Dr. Carlos Antônio Barboza. 2024. 228f. Dissertação (Mestrado Profissional em Ensino de Física em Rede Nacional) - Escola de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/59230The main goal of this study is to provide another approach to science teaching in high school and elementary school, aiming to promote a more accurate and inclusive view of the subject. The purpose of this work is based on the identification of a distorted view of science, scientists and science teachers by students, which in many cases discourages them from pursuing scientific careers and limits their understanding of the scientific process. It also plays a role in the social structure of the community with regard to the increase in the number of students who enter public institutions of higher education in Brazil, aiming to contribute to the development of the country's society and economy. In the technological aspect, the proposal of this work proposal focuses on the practical application of seismology concepts, culminating in the construction of a seismograph, an instrument used to measure seismic activities in the earth's crust. The primary tool for the best use of this process is the use of Ausubel's methodology of meaningful learning, in this aspect of this approach, the proposal is to adopt a didactic sequence that organizes the presentation and use of the concepts of seismology, focusing on the construction of the seismograph and the understanding of the principles of mechanics and waves. The results are represented and analyzed by assessing the impact of changes in students' perceptions of science and their interest in pursuing scientific careers. The learnings gained include a more accurate and inclusive view of science, the development of problem-solving skills and the understanding of the importance of collaboration in scientific research, thus contributing to the production of new knowledge in the field of science education. The expected outcomes include an increase in students' interest in scientific careers, a deeper understanding of the scientific process, and a more active participation in learning, as the significant aspects will have been assimilated and anchored. This work aims to not only improve the way science is taught, but also to inspire students to actively engage in the scientific process by fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration in science education.Acesso AbertoEnsino de CiênciasSismologiaSismógrafoSismicidade: uma forma alternativa de conhecer conceitos físicosmasterThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::FISICA
