In Brazil, this pathological condition has a high mortality rate, and this scenario becomes more complicated in poor regions of the country, where there is a significant rate of inaccurate diagnoses and absence of adequate treatment. Difficulties in the diagnosis can occur due to the fact that the human heart has a complex three-dimensional structure, and also due to the great variability of these cardiac irregularities, making the analysis of exams using two-dimensional images challenging. Thus, the developed tool used virtual reality technology to help medical students, specialist doctors and surgeons to visualize and understand the cardiac anatomy of patients diagnosed with congenital heart diseases. This application enabled the observation of three-dimensional models of the hearts of babies and children, in an immersive environment, allowing a complete evaluation of the organ.
