Based on this mapping, in 2016, the Governo Cidadão Project carried out actions according to different public notices. In order to monitor the actions of the Project, in 2020, a follow-up Form was applied to the beneficiaries of the Edital de Manifestação de Interesse N° 001/2014. This public notice had as one of the objectives the expansion of access to quality water and in sufficient quantity to its target audience. Due to the difficulty of access to water in the semiarid region of the State, the present work aimed to investigate the contribution of the Governo Cidadão Project to the changes of sources of access to water in the State of Rio Grande do Norte. Through this analysis, it was noted an increase in the sources of consumption of best quality water, in which the reduction of the use of cisterns and the increase in the Amazon well can be highlighted. Regarding the distribution of water, it is observed the increase in the use of tank truck, when it was previously predominantly carried out by cisterns. The CAERN pipeline, which was the main responsible for the supply, lost space for the tubular wells. In relation to the use of water, when it was previously focused predominantly on domestic and economic activities, it was possible to perceive a change between the purposes, and the use for drinking presented greater representativeness.
