Within this concept, body dissatisfaction is considered a negative view of one's appearance and may be related to the stereotype idealized by society. In the search for this ideal body, it has been shown that the beginning of physical exercise, including Cross Training, is not motivated only by health benefits, but also stimulated by body dissatisfaction, which can trigger unstructured eating behavior. Thus, the aesthetic objectives are achieved due to a restrictive diet, which can lead to subsequent lack of control and food neophobia. Objectives: to evaluate food intake, considering craving and food neophobia, in addition to body satisfaction in Cross Training practitioners. Methods: The study consisted of 12 men and 21 women practicing Cross Training from Santa Cruz, Rio Grande do Norte, and developed at the Clinical School of Nutrition of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Trairí. Personal, anthropometric, dietary, body satisfaction and commitment to exercise data were collected. Results: It was observed, in both sexes, an eating style associated with emotional aspects of the individual and social situations, with a greater craving evidenced in the group of men. Respectively, 25% and 28.6% of men and women were classified as neophobic. As for body image, 100% of participants showed dissatisfaction with their physical appearance, with a greater commitment to exercise in men than women. Conclusion: It was found that they maintain a food style for emotional and external food intake, with a greater predominance of restrictive habits and food craving in men. Still, they demonstrate dissatisfaction with body image and a high commitment to physical exercise.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/comportamento alimentarneofobia alimentarimagem corporalexercício físicoComportamento alimentar e satisfação corporal em praticantes de Cross TrainingFood behavior and body satisfaction in Cross Training practitionersbachelorThesis
