For this purpose, the database of Associação Plantas do Nordeste (APNE) and the Institute for Sustainable Development and Environment of Rio Grande do Norte (IDEMA/RN) was accessed, considering information on location, duration, volumetric production, Average Annual Increment. (IMA), zones of Average Annual Precipitation (AMP), cutting cycle and types of cutting being analyzed in a descriptive, quantitative and qualitative way, concluding that in 2021, only 28 PMFS had their active exploration license, occupying an area of approximately , 16,400ha, which corresponded to about 27% of the total area occupied by the protocoled PMFS. A total approved wood volume of approximately 212,000 st/ha-1 was also presented in the year 2021, which shows a drop of 60.08% in the authorized volume considering the data of the thirty-two years (assessed period).
