Uso do BLUEM no tratamento não cirúrgico da mucosite periimplantar: um ensaio clínico controlado randomizado. Orientador: Dr. Bruno César de Vasconcelos Gurgel. 2024. 65f. Tese (Doutorado em Ciências Odontológicas) - Centro de Ciências da Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/65343Peri-implant mucositis is an inflammatory condition without bone loss that occurs in the soft tissues surrounding the implant. Non-surgical treatment combines basic therapy with or without the use of chemical agents. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the efficacy of Bluem as a chemical adjuvant in the treatment of peri-implant mucositis in a nonsurgical treatment protocol, considering the periodontal and peri-implant clinical parameters (visible plaque index (VPI), gingival bleeding index (GBI), probing depth (PD) and bleeding on probing (BOP). The implants in this study were allocated into two groups that received non-surgical treatment: 33 implants received basic therapy associated with the chemical agent Bluem (test) and 38 implants received basic therapy associated with the use of placebo (control). The patients were followed up at baseline, 15 days, 3, 6 and 12 months. The normality of the data was determined by the Kolmogorov Smirnov test. Given the normality of the data, the 2-way ANOVA test for repeated measures, as well as chi-square test to verify the association between the dependent and independent variables were used with a level of significance of 5%. Regarding the oral hygiene indexes (VPI and GBI), there was a reduction in VPI and GBI for the test group (0.446 and 0.405, respectively) and a reduction in PB and BOP for the test group (Bluem), with statistical significance (p=0.024 and p=0.001, respectively), with an interaction between time and type of treatment (p=0.001). Given the results, despite the reduction in the IPV and ISG indices and the statistical difference between the control and test groups after the start of treatment in relation to bleeding on probing, the active oxygen-based product does not appear to confer additional effects on the treatment of peri-implant mucositis.pt-BRAcesso AbertoMucosite peri-implantarTratamento não-cirúrgicoAgente químicoUso do BLUEM no tratamento não cirúrgico da mucosite periimplantar: um ensaio clínico controlado randomizadodoctoralThesisCIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ODONTOLOGIA
