Artigo (graduação em Administração) - Faculdade de Engenharia, Letras e Ciências Sociais do Seridó, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Currais Novos, RN, 2023.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/54282The objective of this article is to investigate the existence of the Burnout Syndrome among students of the Faculdade de Engenharia, Letras e Ciências Sociais do Seridó, as well as the possible agents that favor the development of the referred syndrome. As means of data collection, the MBI-SS tool was applied, through an online survey, which had the participation of 62 students from the university. For the analysis of quantitative data, the basic calculation of descriptive statistics was used. Based on the results, it was observed that a relevant number of students present, in their daily life, emotional exhaustion, one of the three dimensions of the Burnout Syndrome. In addition, two main factors were taken into account as possible development agents of the syndrome: the students' double shift and the use of daily public transport. The study was elaborated using as a justification the importance of discussing the theme in the academic environment, since it is poorly debated as one of the possible reasons for poor academic performance and evasion in higher education.
