Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Humanidades) - Instituto Humanitas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/59355This article criticizes the philosophical movement of Transhumanism, arguing that advances in biotechnology, without ethical responsibility, can increase socioeconomic inequality in the neoliberal context. Biotechnology can improve mechanisms of manipulation and surveillance, perpetuating the dominance of an "enhanced" elite over those without access to technological innovations. The critique is based on a bibliographical review of the works of Hans Jonas, Francis Fukuyama and Yuval Harari, applying their concepts to the analysis of a post-human future and its implications for humanity. The study concludes that human actions must consider their long-term consequences, promoting an ethical and prudent approach to the use of technology and the protection of human rights. The need for equitable public policies and a focus on social justice is highlighted to preserve values such as autonomy, equality and dignity, avoiding a dystopian transhumanist future and ensuring that technological advances improve the quality of life for all humanity.Attribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/TranshumanismoPós-HumanoDesigualdadeÉticaResponsabilidadeCrítica ética ao Transhumanismo: desigualdade em uma sociedade Pós-humanistaEthical criticism of transhumanism: inequality in a post-humanist societybachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS
