However, the process of building a usual control chart requires the assumption that the samples are independent, in this case, we must make the necessary changes to this tool. Integer valued time series models along with control charts are used to monitor integer-valued autocorrelated processes. In this paper, we studied the performance of the X-bar control chart, also known as Shewhart's chart, in the context of a first-order integer-valued autoregressive model with innovations of the Borel distribution, known as Borel INAR(1). The performance of the X-bar control chart is analyzed using Monte Carlo simulations, to estimate the in-control average run length ARL0 and the out-of-control average run length ARL1.
