The methodology used was developed from a quantitative-qualitative survey, with the application of a questionnaire applied to 33 microenterprises in the city of Caicó. The first stage was to draw a sociodemographic profile of the managers of the companies, the second stage was to identify whether micro entrepreneurs have accounting services and the importance of this service to their company and lastly, their opinion on accounting services in the city of Caicó. The results obtained by the research are that the majority of respondents belong to the female gender (27 interviewees) and the minority to the male gender (6 interviewees), with a monthly income around 2 minimum wages, working formally, following the legal obligations. Exclusively 54,5% people no have an accountant in their company, due to a myriad of factors. Although nowadays, the reason that mostly influences micro entrepreneurs to make this decision is the cost of this service to their company, which is curious, considering the company's billing allows them to earn a salary above the minimum value.
