With the constant increase in the urban car fleet over the years, along with the need for more effective security policies, it becomes crucial to understand and address this issue. Natal, located in the northeastern Brazil, is home to a population of approximately 751 thousand inhabitants, divided into 36 neighborhoods across four administrative zones. Statistics indicate an average of 11 cars stolen daily in the city. This study aims to utilize descriptive statistics to analyze the variables influencing the incidence of car theft and robbery in Natal’s neighborhoods, with the goal of contributing to policy-making and public safety decisions. The methodology includes an exploratory analysis of database variables, frequency table analyses, and an investigation of the spatial distribution of crimes across the city’s neighborhoods.
