The current Mercado do Pescado presents sanitary conditions unfavorable for the practice of food commerce and an infrastructure incompatible with the activities and number of traders at the site. The Igarapé das Mulheres area and the Mercado do Pescado have a strong symbolism for the city of Macapá, as it is an area that maintains the typical cultural traits of the cities along the Amazon River. To develop the project, we initially conducted a theoretical and conceptual deepening about the notions of landscape, public market and bioclimatic strategies for the hot-humid climate, through bibliographic research and studies of related design references. Then, the architectural program was developed, defining the project's dilemmas and goals. From this basis and with the help of the curricular components of the course, the projectual process was gradually developed and mapped, through several forms of register, since the initial stages of conditioning studies, conception and development of the architectural party. The overall goal of the research is to apply bioclimatic strategies for the hot-humid climate in an architectural proposal for a public market that integrates landscape and architecture. The result achieved consists of a proposal for a Public Market with emphasis on the use of the potential of the surrounding landscape and impact on the thermal comfort of the building, seeking to offer better working conditions for local merchants. By studying the Amazon Region landscape, it was possible to understand the natural and cultural potentialities of the place that can be reflected in a proposal for an architectural project to be explored in the professional practice in Macapá.
