Its study, however, has been losing more and more space in Brazilian education, in which the Earth's functioning is not usually treated as a complex system, resulting in erroneous and fragmented concepts. In face of this situation and considering the importance of geoscientific teaching, the orientation of the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) for the Early Years of Elementary School about the contents related to Geosciences and the importance of the critical pedagogy of place and environment, this research turns to the city of Parnamirim. Rio Grande do Norte, which has considerable network of surface drainage, highlighting the water cycle as a central axis for teaching Geosciences in the city. The mapping of the main rivers in the city enables the identification of those that are located near schools, information that adds to the field research to identify areas that can be used as "visitation areas" for the study of the water cycle and, based on it, of other geoscientific contents and for the realization of interpretative trails as a pedagogical resource. The site chosen based on the ease of access, proximity to schools, and coverage of skills proposed by the Base Nacional Comum Curricular is located in the Poço do Vinte, crossed by the Riacho Água Vermelha, where it was possible to develop at least nine skills, favoring education in the municipality.
