In this perspective, at first, the work analyzes the socio-historical formation of the Brazilian territory and the strong (re) production of social inequalities caused by the peripheral and late capitalism of the country. With regard to the specificities of the population segment studied, the historical rescue of primitive accumulation and the development of capitalism are important to elucidate the origin of the relative overpopulation that includes the homeless population. Nevertheless, the profile and characteristics of this phenomenon become important to understand who they are and what factors condition people to live on the street, to make this space a means of housing and livelihood. The relationship that is the target of analysis in this work is marked by disturbances in the face of the abandonment of the State to make the functioning and the tiny coverage of labor and income policies effective. In this investigation, the methodology used was based exclusively on bibliographic research. At the conclusion level, the lives of the homeless are marked by numerous challenges.
